• The Vineyards are nestled on 48 wooded acres in the special microclimate of Franz Valley near Calistoga, California. This small inlet of Napa Valley is protected on three sides by rocky, wooded hills. The property rises from 500 feet to almost 1000 feet above sea level. This difficult, rocky terrain allows for three totally unique vineyards with distinct individual characteristics.

  • Treva's Vineyard: When first tested in 1997, Nord Coast Vineyard service stated “This soil has excellent balance of nutrients for vineyard growth. It is unusual for the potassium, magnesium and calcium to be so well in balance.” We planted 110R rootstock and later budded 337 clone. This is a steep, very rocky site with red volcanic soils and excellent drainage. The south eastern exposure provides full sun without intense heat. This vineyard produces a small yield of tiny dark blue to black berries maturing near the end of September.

  • Jake's Creek Vineyard: This is a two and a half acre vineyard surrounded by a beautiful old native stone wall with a natural creek running the length of the vineyard’s east side. Planted with 420-A rootstock and 337 clone, this vineyard matures much later than the other two and the rocky alluvial soils produce rich dark fruit, usually harvested the last two weeks of October.

  • Lakeview Vineyard: This is our midblock vineyard with very rocky and chalky soils. The drainage is excellent and receives full sun all day. We have one acre of 337 clone cabernet, A quarter acre of petit verdot, and one acre of clone 6 cabernet. All vines are on 101-14 rootstock. This vineyard is usually harvested mid-October.
