2009 Jake's Creek Cabernet Sauvignon

Beginning with this vintage, we’ve officially converted this block to being dry farmed. This and some conscientious early thinning has produced a new, more serious style from Jake’s. There is still some of the soil elements that make this bottling so unique but it’s more fruit/mineral driven than years past. We saw this in 2008 due more to weather and we’ve been able to recreate it subsequently through better farming practices. On both the nose and the palate, the combo of red/black fruits and scorched earth/white flowers create a wine of serious breadth. It’s the wine that’s easiest to drink at release but it’s also always the most complex.
